In this article, I am going to share with you some of the best ways to celebrate Eid.
Before that, let me give you a brief overview of the Eid.
What is Eid?
Every year Eid comes 2 times a year. One is Eid ul Fitr is also called a sweet festival and is celebrated right after the end of Ramadan. This is basically a celebration of 1 month of fasting. The other is Eid ul Adha also called the sacrifice festival and Muslims celebrate it after about 2 and half months of Eid ul Fitr. At this festival, Muslims usually do Qurbani of goat, cow, or camel depending upon your resources.
I hope now you have understood the science behind Eid so now let us get started with some of the best ways of celebrating Eid.
5 Best Ways to Celebrate Eid
Following are some of the ways to celebrate Eid with your loved ones:
1. Attend an Eid Prayer
On such a beautiful day, there’s no better way of celebrating the day than attending an Eid Prayer. Wear your best dress, look presentable and attend the Eid Prayer.
This is the first and foremost thing that you should do with your family and start your beautiful Eid day with Eid prayer. Normally people go to a place announced by the local authorities for the prayer. After the prayer hugging 3 times and saying Eid Mubarak is a common thing.
2. Decorate the Home
There is no better way for your friends and family to notice that Eid is a special day than decorating the house using colorful and bright decorations. Search for Eid Themed Decorations on the internet.
If you don’t want to use the money on this day, you can easily make your banners and flags. If you do not know how to make such decoration stuff you can take help from YouTube. There is much useful stuff that you can find over there and best of all it will be free.
3. Send Eid Mubarak Wishes
If your loved ones are far away from you and you cannot meet them then Eid wishes come into play. These are the best ways of celebrating this beautiful event with those who are far away from you and you cannot say Eid Mubarak to them in person.
If you want to be a bit formal with your loved ones you can also send Eid cards with your best wishes and messages for your loved ones.
4. Keep the Kids Busy
When you were a child, there are probably many things you enjoyed. You would play games, help your parents with chores, get your best treat or grab some board games covered with dust.
Today’s children on the other hand are very busy with their phones and TV. Keep them involved in meal preparations and cleaning during the Eid celebrations. So, at least on this beautiful day, they are not busy with their own things.
Also, try to explain to your children the importance of Eid and why being a Muslim you celebrate it. The history behind it and similar things so they know why they celebrate it and in future can guide their own children.
5. Take a Day Out
Instead of spending the whole day indoors with your family and relatives, you can choose to get out with them, eat, and enjoy Eid equally. Go to a restaurant or a Zoo or any other place to enjoy Eid in a relaxed manner.
Most of the people forget to visit graveyards to pray forgiveness for their loved ones and Eid is the best day to remember your loved ones who passed away and seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty. Also, tell your children the importance of visiting the graveyard and how to seek forgiveness for the loved ones. According to my personal experience, this is the best message you can give to them.
The Bottom Line!
Eid is not just an event of exchanging money, eating food, and celebrating with your loved ones. It is far more than that. It tells you how to sacrifice for others, how to help others, how to give respect, how to take respect, and a lot more.
